Brocade 0: Opening Gong
Opening Gong is the exercise which wakes up the movement of Qi energy in all your meridians. For me it is the gong which produces the strongest effects, perhaps because I have performed it the most.
Its only 7 movements.
1. From standing posture bring your arms up to the sides then up over your head, placing your hands together
2. Bring your palms down in front of your chest in a ‘prayer’ type position
3. Rub your palms together
4. Press your hands downwards straightening your arms
5. Pull your right hand into your left, as if gathering up a thread and bring your hands up to either lower, middle or upper DanTien (depending on your objective)
6. Bring your arms down in front of your body, hands still cupped
7. With your arms straight, pull your fingers back and externally rotate your arms, opening your chest, returning to standing posture
